- 1Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add penne and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, 10 to 12 minutes.
- 2Heat oil over low heat in a large skillet. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until onion is tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, capers, lemon juice, parsley, and pepper flakes. Simmer gently until sauce thickens, about 3 minutes. Fold in tuna and cook until heated through.
- 3Drain penne and return to the pot. Pour sauce over pasta and toss to coat.
