One of my childhood favorites from my hometown, Cebu City, in the Phillipines. When finished, you can steam this dish on a steamer for 10 minutes to mimic the effect of a steamed dish like what they do in dim sum restaurants. I personally think it tastes just fine without steaming.

A very coconutty and chewy rice flour dessert. Traditionally, this is baked in banana leaves, but my family prefers the crispy edges, which is why I use a sheet pan. I have been testing out several types of chewy desserts using rice flour, and this seems to be the favorite.

It's a rich dish that makes your kitchen smell so wonderful! Once my family smells the ginger frying and coconut milk simmering, they can't wait for it to be done so they can dig in.
